Important Beliefs, Goals and Values of Liga MX.
"Los Jovenes Mexicanos deben de ser usados", is something almost all, if not every, Liga Mx fan has said once in their time of watching the league. Young prospects are something that fans value so much in the league, as we all believe that they are the players who do deserve a chance, instead of foreigners who are not even that good, and are really overpaid. If there is something all Mexican soccer fans can agree on, is that they'd rather play with a very talented 18-year-old, who actually runs and has heart to play, than a 27-year-old who, although has experience, plays with no passion and has no right to be playing for that team. A way the league has tried to implement the usage of younger players is with the "Regla de Menores", which is a law that all teams have to follow, where it consists of needing to obtain a certain number of minutes for players younger than 23 in order to not get fined. An example of a very young prospect can be Gilberto Mora, who is currently 17 years old and plays with Xolos de Tijuana. He is one of the most exciting players who are coming from Mexico and is hopefully one day going to become the best player in the world. He debuted with Xolos when he was 15 years old, and I was personally there the moment he got subbed on and I was also there to witness his first ever professional goal, which is something exciting to me. Both Barcelona and Real Madrid, who are probably two of the best teams in the world, all time, have been interested in the player and have offered big amounts of money for him, yet there is nothing official right now. The reason I am talking about him is not only because he is a really exciting player to watch, but because this wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for the law which I earlier talked about. Yes, he maybe would've gotten a chance later, but since teams need to do it, he was able to get a lot of experience early on and has developed into a great talent. This is exactly what Liga MX fans want to happen. they want young players to get a chance in the top division and develop into great players, so one day they can become good enough to be called up to the national team, just like Gilberto. Other examples can be Hugo Camberos from Chivas, Elias Montiel from Pachuca, or Chicha Snachez from Tigres.
This year, the under-20 Mexican side had a decent run in the world cup, losing in the Quarter Finals against eventual 2nd place, Argentina, but what this Mexican side left was some hope for the future of the national team, which in my humble opinion, some players deserve to be in the main team, and some from the main team should not even be professionals, but that's for another day. So why the league receives most of its profit from big name players from big teams, the people have always been in favor of giving younger players a chance in order to prove themselves, and make Mexican soccer better as time goes by, so that one day, Mexico might have a chance of winning a World Cup.¿Puede México ganar el Mundial 2026?
