My Discourse Community
As stated in my previous blog, I will be focusing on the Mexican Soccer league, or Liga MX, Mexico's top division of soccer, and where only the best Mexican teams compete. Although this can be a very broad community, there are so many ways that it can be considered as unique, with some characteristics that only fans of this league will know. The reason I believe it can be considered as a discourse community is because there are many features that only this leagues fans will know about and there are many ways fans of the league can communicate to others and even to the league itself. Although big, there are many reasons it can be a discourse community. Some of these fans are able to connect with each other through social media, specifically, Instagram group chats, like one I myself am in. I am part of a community who talk about Chivas, one of the more popular teams, and talk about how the team could improve and what they should do in order to become better, or just trash tell them because they had a bad game. The best part of it is that some players are part of the community, and can read what their fans say, and sometimes will answer back, which to me is very cool. Something that I have always wanted to do was become more involved with the leagues somehow and one day leave my mark. I have always dreamed of either coaching or directing a team in the league, and one day doing something so important that I leave as a legend. Obviously, that's something so out of the park and probably impossible, but a man can dream. I've always wanted to connect deeper and see the behind the scenes of what truly happens. I'd want to see what the owners of all this truly want and what the league truly means to them, because there has been some very questionable ideas and rumors about it.
